Indian mixed doubles pair Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto secured a place in the semifinals of the German Open Super 300 tournament with a straight-sets victory over China’s Gao Jia Xuan and Wu Meng Ying on Friday.
The eighth-seeded Indian duo displayed excellent form, winning the match 21-14, 21-17. Their win sets up a last-four clash against Indonesia’s Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja.
In other tournament news, Rakshitha Sree Santosh Ramraj exited the women’s singles quarterfinals after a 12-21, 12-21 loss to Denmark’s Mia Blichfeldt. Tharun Mannepalli also faced defeat in the men’s singles quarterfinals, losing to Toma Junior Popov with scores of 16-21, 21-17, 21-8.
