The newly inaugurated state-of-the-art auditorium at OUAT Chiplima College of Agriculture promises to foster intellectual growth among students while enhancing farmers’ skills.
The auditorium, unveiled by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday, is expected to serve as a vital platform for knowledge-sharing and skill development.
In his address, Minister Pradhan highlighted the significance of Chiplima’s OUAT campus, describing it as a “hub for nurturing new and brilliant minds.” The Odisha government has sanctioned an additional ₹80 crore to strengthen the campus infrastructure, including academic and administrative blocks, hostels, and other facilities.
The inauguration of this auditorium comes with an investment of approximately ₹10.5 crore, further supporting the growth and progress of the institution. Minister Pradhan expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and the state government for their commitment to advancing agricultural education.
With a vision to transform Sambalpur into an agriculture-driven economic hub, future plans include developing new curricula centred on agricultural technologies, offering farmer training programs, and expanding agricultural research facilities.
Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo and Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, and Drinking Water, Rabi Narayan Naik, were also present at the event, marking a significant milestone for agricultural education in the region.
