The second day of the ongoing 7th Odisha State Book Festival 2025 witnessed a literary highlight when celebrated Odia author Devdas Chhotray released his latest book, Ama Samayara Manisha, at the stall of Ketaki Foundation Trust.
The evening ceremony, held at 5 PM, drew a large gathering of literature scholars, students, and ardent admirers who eagerly queued up for autographed copies. The new title, described as a reflective and deeply personal work, received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
Speaking on the occasion, devotees of Odia literature praised Chhotray’s lifelong contribution to the language through poetry, drama, film lyrics and prose. Many described the launch as one of the most heartwarming moments of this year’s book festival.

Alongside the launch, Ketaki Foundation Trust showcased a rich curated collection that includes poetry, novels, historical works, coffee-table books, travelogues, plays, autobiographies and biographies. A special attraction is the revived edition of the iconic literary magazine, once passionately edited by the late, legendary poet Jayanta Mahapatra, which evokes nostalgia among visitors.
The Trust expressed its excitement for more literary interactions and engagements in the remaining days of the week-long festival.
The 7th Odisha State Book Festival 2025 continues to be a vibrant celebration of Odia language and culture, bringing together writers, publishers and readers under one roof.
