Bengal Warriorz have officially named Devank Dalal as their captain for Season 12 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), following his historic performance last year.
Signed for Rs 2.205 crore, Dalal enters the season as the most expensive Indian player in the auction and the league’s top raider from Season 11, where he amassed 301 raid points.
Dalal’s journey to captaincy is nothing short of inspirational. Just two years ago, he suffered a life-threatening skull injury during PKL Season 10. His return to form and dominance on the mat has made him a symbol of resilience and determination.
Joining him in leadership is Nitesh Kumar, retained by the franchise and appointed as defence captain. Known for his consistency and tactical acumen, Nitesh remains the only player in PKL history to record 100 tackle points in a single season.
“Captaining Bengal Warriorz is a huge honour,” said Dalal. “I’ve fought hard to be back on this stage, and I want to lead with that same determination.”
Head Coach Naveen Kumar praised the duo, calling them “contrasting but complementary” leaders who will guide a young and ambitious squad.
With Dalal’s fearless raiding and Nitesh’s defensive prowess, Bengal Warriorz aim to reclaim their dominance in PKL 2025.
