Jyotsna Bhoj, a 55-year-old widow, lost her life after a heated dispute over firewood turned fatal on Thursday.
The conflict erupted between Jyotsna and her sister-in-law, Geeta Bhoj, at Nilabairni Sahi under Debagarh Municipality.
Eyewitness reports suggest that the altercation escalated quickly, culminating in Geeta attacking Jyotsna with a sharp object. Despite being rushed to Deogarh District Headquarters Hospital, Jyotsna succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead by medical authorities.
Following the tragedy, local residents detained Geeta Bhoj, who has since been taken into police custody. Law enforcement officials have initiated an investigation into the matter, striving to uncover the details behind this unfortunate event.
