New Delhi: The Delhi Police has put up multi-layer barricades and concertina wires to prevent movement of protesters agitating against Centre’s farm laws.
The number of protesters continues to rise at Delhi borders. The police has beefed up security at the Ghazipur border between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. These are two focal points of the farmers’ agitation.
Reports said a portion of the road is studded with nails and drones to keep an eye on the protesters. A farmer said that the new measures could not deter the protesters and they would not quit the movement because of the show of force.
Security has also been tightened at the other protest sites on Delhi’s borders days after clashes broke out between police and protesters during a tractor parade on Republic Day.
Farmer leaders on Monday announced they will block all the national and state highways on February 6 in protest against the internet ban in areas near their agitation sites.
