Amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh convened a high-level meeting with key military officials to assess the country’s security preparedness along its western border.


The strategic discussion took place in South Block, bringing together Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and the heads of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

The meeting was primarily aimed at reviewing operational strategies and strengthening defensive measures following a recent attempted missile and drone attack. Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh also participated in the discussions, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of national security priorities.

This security review follows another critical meeting chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah, which focused on aviation and border security. Senior officials from the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and the Intelligence Bureau were present, highlighting the government’s proactive stance on defence readiness.

India’s response to growing regional tensions underscores its commitment to safeguarding its borders while enhancing strategic military preparedness. The government’s continued engagement with top defence officials reflects a robust and coordinated approach to national security.
