Police recovered the decomposed body of a young man from an abandoned house in the Barang area on Tuesday, sending shockwaves through the locality.
The body was found hanging from a rope inside the deserted structure.
The deceased was identified as Padia Nayak of Godisahi village. His father, Tukuna Nayak, confirmed the identity of the skeletal remains as his son. Padia had been missing since July 28, raising troubling questions about the circumstances of his death.
Authorities have yet to establish whether the youth died by suicide or was murdered. No formal complaint has been filed at the police station in connection with the case so far. Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact sequence of events and uncover the truth behind the grim discovery.
