Stray dogs were found nibbling on the body of a newborn baby girl in a dump yard near Mahesdihi Theme Park within Sundargarh town.

The distressing discovery was made earlier this morning by locals, who immediately alerted the authorities. Investigations suggest the baby may have been abandoned shortly after birth. Speculations point to possible gender bias as a motive, reflecting persistent societal preference for male children. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, pending an official inquiry.

The police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the baby’s death and the chain of events leading to her abandonment. Further details are awaited as the authorities work to uncover the truth behind this tragic case.

Municipal council member Sumant Sahu, who was among the first to arrive at the scene, has called for awareness campaigns to combat societal prejudices and ensure the safety of newborns.

This incident has shocked the community, prompting widespread calls for justice and a renewed focus on addressing systemic issues related to gender discrimination.
