Bhubaneswar: Cyclone Yaas is located about 160 km east-southeast of Paradip and 250 km south-southeast of Balasore, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its latest bulletin.
It will intensify further and cross north Odisha-West Bengal coasts between Paradip and Sagar Islands during 26th May as a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm, the IMD said.
Cyclone Yaas has intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm, informed IMD DG Dr. Mrutyunjay Mohapatra.
On the other hand, Doppler radar at Paradip has spotted the eye of Cyclone. The Radius of the ‘Eye’ is said to be 35 km and the areas falling in the route of the eye are expected to suffer massive destruction.
