In a proactive measure to prioritise passenger safety amid the approaching Cyclone Montha, Indian Railways has announced significant disruptions to train operations. A total of 61 trains have been cancelled over the coming days, with the majority affected on October 28, 2025.
The cancellations are distributed as follows: 4 trains on October 27, 2025; 48 trains on October 28, 2025; 8 trains on October 29, 2025; and 1 train on October 30, 2025.
Among the key services impacted are the 07166 Bhubaneswar-New-Hyderabad Special on October 29, 2025; the 17479 Puri-Tirupati Express on October 30, 2025; and the 18464 Bengaluru-Bhubaneswar Prashanti Express on October 29, 2025.
Additionally, 9 trains have been short-terminated or short-originated, 6 trains diverted, and another 9 rescheduled to mitigate risks from the severe weather.
Railway authorities are maintaining vigilant oversight of the situation, working in close coordination with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and Disaster Management teams. Dedicated field crews have been stationed for continuous monitoring and inspections of railway tracks, signaling infrastructure, and overhead electrical lines, ensuring swift repairs and restoration once the cyclone passes.
