Cuttack: The cyber police on Friday arrested a person for allegedly morphing obscene images of several minor girls and threatening them to post the pictures on social media.
The identity of the accused is yet disclosed by the police.
According to police, the accused used to send friend requests to several minor girls on different social media handles.
Later when they accept his request, he used to lift their pictures and edit them into sexually explicit content. He used to send the pictures to the girls from another fake account and blackmail them by threatening to post the pictures on social media.
He also used to pressurize the victims to attend a video call with him during which he used to record vulgar videos.
Following the crackdown, the Cyber Police have advised the social media users especially teenage girls not to accept the friend requests of unknown people.
In addition to this, the police also urged the parents to monitor the social media activities of teenage children.
