Cuttack Accident: CM Majhi Announces Rs 10 Lakh Ex Gratia

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep grief over the demise of the two police officers who died in the tragic road accident on the Cuttack-Paradip road on Tuesday.


The accident has claimed the lives of two on-duty police personnel—a constable from the Odisha Special Armed Police (OSAP) and a home guard.

Extending his condolences to the bereaved families, the Chief Minister has directed authorities to provide Rs 10 lakh as compassionate assistance to the closest kin of the deceased. Additionally, the Chief Minister wished a swift recovery for those injured in the accident.

The tragic mishap occurred early this morning when a speeding sand-laden Hyva truck collided with a PCR van near Gatiroutpatna. The force of the collision completely damaged the PCR van. The two officers died on the spot.

A third officer sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Officials confirm that his condition is stable.
