The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a raid at the house of G. Satyanarayan, a labour contractor for the Food Corporation of India (FCI), in Paramanpur village, Bargarh district.
The raid, which took place early in the morning, involved a 10-member CBI team arriving in two vehicles. Satyanarayan is under investigation for allegedly trading money illegally from his residence.
In addition to his house, the CBI also raided his paddy seed production center in Gauratikra. Satyanarayan’s son, G. Umamahesh, was detained for questioning.
Satyanarayan has been taking contracts for warehouses in various parts of the state, and there have been previous complaints against him for not paying workers’ wages.
The CBI received intelligence reports about illegal transactions with government officials, prompting the surprise raid.
