Ahead of the presentation of the Union Budget 2026, oil marketing companies (OMCs) have increased the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹50, effective February 1, 2026.

The revision applies across major Indian cities and impacts commercial establishments such as hotels, restaurants, cafés, and roadside eateries.

Notably, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged, continuing at the rates last revised on April 8, 2025, offering relief to household consumers.

Latest Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices (19 kg)

According to data available on Indian Oil Corporation’s official website, the revised prices are as follows:

City Price from Feb 1, 2026 (₹) Price on Jan 1, 2026 (₹) Increase (₹)
Delhi 1,740.50 1,691.50 49
Mumbai 1,692.00 1,642.50 49.50
Kolkata 1,844.50 1,795.00 49.50
Chennai 1,899.50 1,849.50 50

Monthly Price Revision Mechanism

Government-owned oil marketing companies review LPG cylinder prices on the first day of every month, based on global fuel trends, exchange rates, and logistics costs.

  • January 2026: Prices increased by ₹111

  • November–December 2025: Minor price cuts of ₹5 and ₹10

  • October 2025: Marginal increase of ₹15.50

  • April–September 2025: Prices largely trended downward

This pattern highlights ongoing volatility in commercial LPG pricing.

Aviation Fuel Prices Reduced

In contrast to the LPG hike, Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices have been reduced with effect from February 1, 2026.

  • Delhi: ₹91,393.39 per kilolitre (down from ₹92,323.02)

  • Mumbai: ₹85,474.63 per kilolitre

  • Kolkata: ₹94,445.62 per kilolitre

  • Chennai: ₹94,781.99 per kilolitre

The reduction may help ease operational costs for airlines, although its impact on airfares will depend on multiple factors.

Impact Overview

While households remain unaffected for now, the increase in commercial LPG prices may place additional cost pressure on food and hospitality businesses, potentially influencing menu prices and service costs in the coming weeks.
