Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will visit Rayagada district on February 2, marking his third official tour since assuming office.
During his visit, he will participate in the 108-Kundi Vedic Vishwashanti Maha Yajna and inaugurate the Subhadra Shakti Mela, along with several other programmes.
The Maha Yajna, organised at the JSCO Ground in Barijhola, began on January 31 and will continue until February 2. CM Majhi is scheduled to offer Purnahuti during the concluding rituals. The organising committee, led by Balakrishna Panda and his team, has been working tirelessly to ensure the success of the event.
Alongside the religious programme, the district administration is hosting the Subhadra Shakti Mela from February 2 to 8. The mela aims to empower women’s self-help groups (SHGs) by providing them a platform to showcase their enterprises and move towards self-reliance. SHG entrepreneurs from Rayagada as well as other districts of Odisha will participate.
District Collector Ashutosh Kulkarni and senior officials have already inspected the venues to oversee preparations. Sources indicate that the Chief Minister may also inaugurate new projects and announce major initiatives for Rayagada during his visit.
