Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Reviews Development Projects in KeonjharSubtitle: CM Majhi Inaugurates Ambulances, Mobile Education Unit, and Infrastructure Projects, Pushes for Accelerated Development.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited Keonjhar district today to review ongoing developmental projects and inaugurate key initiatives aimed at enhancing the region’s infrastructure and public welfare.

During his visit, CM Majhi inaugurated three advanced life-saving ambulances sponsored by the Indian Bay Birth Organisation, a dedicated coconut collection vehicle for the Maa Tarini Temple in Ghatgaon, a mobile education unit (Ekal Rath) to promote cultural education in remote areas, and a newly constructed waiting hall at the District Collector’s office. These initiatives are expected to significantly improve emergency healthcare services, religious accessibility, education outreach, and public convenience in the district.

At a review meeting held at Darbar Hall, the Chief Minister conducted a detailed assessment of various sectors, including forest conservation, tourism, rural development, roads, transport, healthcare, education, irrigation, women’s empowerment, agriculture, and industry. He expressed satisfaction with the progress of ongoing projects and issued directives to expedite their implementation while maintaining high standards of quality.

A key focus of the meeting was infrastructure development, particularly road connectivity. CM Majhi reviewed projects such as the Raisuan Airstrip, Keonjhar Bypass, iconic bridges, railway station roads, and several key routes like Nudurapada-Kaliahata, Pithagola, and Suakati Double Bridge over the Baitarani River. He also assessed the Mining Corridor and other major road projects, directing officials to accelerate land acquisition, prepare detailed project reports (DPRs), and resolve forest-related issues promptly. New proposals for roads and bridges, including the Ramachandrapur-Deogaon Bridge, were also discussed.

The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of public welfare and instructed officials to address community demands swiftly. He commended the district administration for its progress in implementing the Subhadra Yojana and Lakhpati Didi Yojana, which have positioned Keonjhar as a leader in these schemes across Odisha. Additionally, he called for comprehensive plans to promote industrial growth, tourism, and renewable energy, alongside resolving drinking water issues in affected areas.

Specific directives included expediting the Barbil-Chandikhol road expansion, Rimuli-Panikoili and Rimuli-Rajamunda roads, and addressing maintenance issues under the National Highways Authority. Projects like the steel plant construction, Maa Tarini Temple upgradation, Barbil Bypass, and Kashipur and Power House Pond works were also reviewed, with instructions to complete forest land transfers promptly.

CM Majhi urged the administration to tackle law and order challenges and other local issues to ensure Keonjhar’s holistic development. He envisioned the district as a benchmark for progress, with a focus on strengthening healthcare, education, and sports infrastructure.

The review meeting was attended by prominent officials and elected representatives, including MLAs from Ghasipura, Champua, Patna, and Telkoi, the Zilla Parishad President, senior police officials, the Chief Conservator of Forests, the District Collector, the Superintendent of Police, and other key administrators.
