Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi released CM Kisan assistance worth ₹838.48 crore to 41.68 lakh farmers on Akshaya Tritiya.
The funds were directly transferred to farmers’ accounts during the state-level Krushak Divas celebration in Cuttack. The scheme benefited 41,27,533 small farmers and 41,049 landless farmers. The government described the initiative as a major step toward supporting agricultural livelihoods.
The Chief Minister performed the traditional Akhi Muthi Anukula ritual at the Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI). Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo joined the event. The ceremony included homa yajna and symbolic sowing, marking the auspicious beginning of the agricultural season.
The announcement brought cheer across Odisha. Farmers welcomed the CM Kisan aid as timely support during the sowing season. The government emphasised its commitment to strengthening rural communities and ensuring financial relief for cultivators.
The CM Kisan scheme continues to serve as a lifeline for small and landless farmers. By distributing Rs 838.48 crore, the state reinforced its focus on inclusive growth and agricultural development.
