A teacher identified as Jyotsnarani Sahu went missing in Baripada’s Bautishol area on Saturday while engaged in census work, prompting her family to lodge a complaint.
Jyotsnarani Sahu, originally from Puri district, has been serving in Baripada for eight years. She worked as an assistant teacher at the government UG School in Dhenkinanjia. On Saturday morning, around 7 a.m., she left for school and later joined census duty. She did not return home, and her phone remained switched off when family members tried to contact her.
Her family reported the matter to the Sadar police station, expressing concern over her sudden disappearance. They stated that she had no history of leaving without informing and urged authorities to trace her immediately.
Police acknowledged the complaint but have not yet shared details of the investigation. Officers are verifying her movements and contacting colleagues involved in census work. The search continues as her family awaits updates.
