Bhubaneswar: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the results of the 10th and 12th exams on Monday, with girls leading in both exams. The national pass rate for the 10th grade is 93.60%, an increase of 0.48% from last year, while the 12th-grade pass rate stands at 87.98%, a 0.65% increase from the previous year.
In the 10th grade, the pass rate for female students is 94.75%, compared to 92.71% for male students and 91.30% for transgender students. A total of 47,000 students scored more than 95% and 2.12 lakh examinees scored more than 90%. The highest pass rate was recorded in Kerala’s Trivandrum region at 99.75%, followed by Vijayawada at 99.60%, Chettai at 99.30% and Bengaluru at 99.26%. The Bhubaneswar region, which includes Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal, ranked 13th with a pass rate of 92.03%.
In the 12th grade, female students again outperformed their male counterparts, with a pass rate of 91.52% compared to 85.12% for male students. A total of 24,068 students secured more than 95% marks and 1.16 lakh students secured more than 90% marks. The Trivandrum region of Kerala tops with a pass rate of 99.91%, followed by Vijayawada at 99.04%, Chettai at 98.47% and Bengaluru at 96.95%. The Bhubaneswar region again ranked 13th with a pass rate of 83.34%.
In Odisha, the pass rate for the 10th grade is 91.53% and for the 12th grade, it is 80.85%. In the 10th grade, a total of 54,608 students registered their names out of which 54,330 students took the exam, but 49,726 students passed. Among the passed students, 27,097 are male and 22,629 are female students. The pass rate of male students is 91.35% while the pass rate of female students is 91.74%.
In the 12th grade, a total of 37,497 students registered their names out of which 37,126 students appeared for the exam but 30,018 students passed. Among the passed students, 16,126 are male and 13,892 are female students. The pass rate of total male students is 80.56% and the pass rate of female students is 81.20%.
