In a major push to resolve ongoing technical and payment troubles plaguing the CBSE post-result and re-evaluation portal, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has stepped in with high-level interventions involving the Ministry of Finance and premier technical institutions.

Following widespread complaints from students and parents about payment failures, portal crashes, and delays during the re-evaluation process, Shri Pradhan held direct talks with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The two ministers agreed on an immediate collaborative solution: four leading Public Sector Banks — State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, and Indian Bank — will assist the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in completely overhauling its payment gateway system.

The banks will help implement robust payment protocols, ensure timely transactions, fix recurring glitches, and enable automatic refunds for any excess payments. This integration aims to bring enterprise-level stability to CBSE’s digital infrastructure, which has come under sharp criticism this year.

In parallel, Pradhan has directed the engagement of expert teams from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur. These professors and technical specialists will conduct a thorough audit of the post-examination services portal. Their mandate includes examining server performance, portal stability, login authentication, user access systems, overall IT infrastructure, and payment gateways. The IIT team will recommend and implement targeted technological upgrades to prevent future disruptions.

“Student interests remain paramount,” Pradhan emphasised, directing CBSE to prioritise transparency, efficiency, and a student-friendly experience. The coordinated effort between the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, public sector banks, and IITs signals a comprehensive response to restore confidence in one of India’s largest examination boards.

The developments come as thousands of students await re-evaluation and compartment results, making the timely resolution of these issues critical.
