The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Shambhu Prasad Singh, a Head Constable of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), stationed in Bimalgarh, Sundargarh district, Odisha.
Singh was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe from a complainant.
The case was registered by the CBI on May 8, 2025, following allegations that Singh, along with an Inspector, had demanded illegal gratification from the complainant to allow the smooth operation of his Dhaba-cum-Barber shop on Railway land at Barsuan. Acting swiftly, the CBI laid a trap and apprehended Singh at the moment of bribery exchange.
After his arrest, the accused was produced before the CBI Special Court in Bhubaneswar, where he was remanded to judicial custody until May 15, 2025.
The investigation remains active as CBI delve deeper into the matter.
