Three persons died after the motorcycle they were travelling in was hit by a speeding bus near the MV-7 village of Malkangiri district Saturday evening.
At around 6 pm, a bus bearing registration no OD-30-4909 was en route to Podia from Malkangiri when it collided with a bike coming from the opposite direction near the Tamasa River.
As a result, the bus ran over the trio killing them on the spot. The bus driver managed to escape from the spot soon after the mishap.
On intimation, Malkangiri police reached the spot and started an investigation.
However, police have yet to ascertain the identities of the deceased persons.
