The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) conducted an extensive review of 19 major infrastructure projects in Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal.
These projects, collectively valued at INR 63,858 crore, span diverse sectors such as healthcare, steel, coal, road transport, petroleum, natural gas, railways, and power.
At the forefront of the discussions was the Buxar Thermal Power Plant (1320 MW) in Bihar, estimated to cost INR 10,439.09 crore. Other critical projects include Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospitals aimed at enhancing healthcare access across the three states.
The review meeting, chaired by Principal Economic Advisor Shri Praveen Mahto, saw participation from Central Ministries, State Governments, and private stakeholders, highlighting the collective effort to tackle pressing issues. Shri Mahto stressed the importance of proactive problem-solving and collaboration between government bodies and private entities to ensure the timely execution of these high-impact projects.

With enhanced coordination among stakeholders, DPIIT is committed to ensuring the efficient completion of these projects and realizing their long-term benefits.
