The peaceful village of Sarigada in Rayagada district was shaken after two family members of the Likitipada lady sarpanch were found murdered under mysterious circumstances.

The victims, identified as Agadhu Gamang (husband of the sarpanch) and Semera Gamang (father-in-law), were discovered at the village outskirts, raising alarm among the local residents.

Upon being informed, Padmapur police rushed to the scene and launched a detailed probe into the double homicide. While the exact motive remains unclear, authorities suspect past enmity might be linked to the crime. Investigators are collecting evidence and questioning potential witnesses in an effort to uncover the perpetrators behind the brutal act.

Residents of Sarigada are struggling to come to terms with the tragedy, expressing their grief and fear over the violent nature of the incident. Many have urged law enforcement officials to ensure justice is served swiftly.

A senior police official stated, “We are exploring all leads and ensuring a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice.”

More updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
