Bada Bazar police have arrested three individuals—including a father and his son—in connection with two separate cross-cases involving charges of attempted murder and sexual harassment.
According to police sources, the conflict erupted on the evening of October 20 when local resident Khakan Nag (50) intercepted his neighbor, Chandan Kandi (24), and verbally abused him. The altercation quickly escalated into a violent scuffle. During the clash, Khakan allegedly struck Chandan on the head with an iron rod, while his 19-year-old son, Vishal Nag (alias Babu), attacked Chandan with a stone in an attempt on his life.
Following a complaint filed by Chandan, police registered Case No. 796/26 and arrested both Khakan and Vishal Nag.
In a counter-complaint, Khakan’s wife alleged that Chandan Kandi forcibly entered her residence, sexually harassed her, and attempted to strangle her to death. Based on her allegations, Bada Bazar police registered Case No. 800/26, subsequently arresting Chandan Kandi.
All three accused individuals have been forwarded to court as further investigation into the matter continues.
