Boudh Police seized 318 kilograms of ganja from a Haryana‑registered container near Sarasara railway crossing late Tuesday night.
Acting on a tip‑off, police intercepted the vehicle around 3 AM and kept it under watch. On Wednesday, in the presence of the Magistrate and Harabhanga Additional Tahsildar Sandeep Dhal, the container was thoroughly searched. The contraband was weighed and confirmed to be 318 kg.
Police arrested the driver and helper of the vehicle and registered a case under the NDPS Act at Boudh Police Station. The investigation is underway to trace the source and destination of the consignment.
Officials including Sub‑Inspectors Yashobanta Kahar and Biswamitra Loi, along with ASI Madan Mohan Pradhan and other personnel, were present during the seizure.
