The district administration has extended the internet suspension in Malkangiri by another 36 hours, keeping the ban effective until Monday noon.
The decision comes in the wake of tensions between MV-26 and Rakhalguda villages.
According to District Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, the administration lifted BNSS 163 restrictions but decided to prolong the internet shutdown to maintain law and order. He confirmed that damages worth Rs 3.8 crore have been assessed so far.
Meanwhile, electricity and water supply have returned to normal in the affected areas. Relief operations continue under strict monitoring, and security forces remain deployed to prevent further escalation.
In addition, police have arrested six individuals in connection with the unrest. The Collector stated that the arrests were necessary to restore peace and ensure accountability.
