The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday inaugurated 30 newly constructed public urinal facilities at key high‑footfall locations across the city, including Unit‑I Market, Rasulgarh Bus Stand, Bapuji Nagar, AG Square Park, Baramunda, Nayapalli, ID Market, Priyadarshini Market, Khandagiri, Sriya Talkies, and N‑3 Park.

Officials said the initiative is part of a larger plan to set up over 200 urinal facilities across Bhubaneswar’s three administrative zones. The facilities, developed to improve access to basic sanitation in busy commercial areas, transport hubs, and public spaces, are expected to reduce instances of open urination and promote cleaner surroundings.

The civic body confirmed that all 30 urinals will be available free of cost, with no user fee charged, and will remain open daily from 6 AM to 10 PM.

BMC emphasised that the project reflects its commitment to strengthening urban sanitation infrastructure and ensuring hygienic public spaces for residents and visitors.
