An elderly beggar was brutally killed allegedly by his roommate in Jajpur district on Sunday night.
The incident occurred near Military Chhak under Jajpur Road police limits.
The accused, identified as 32-year-old Sanjay Nath, reportedly attacked the beggar following a heated argument at their shared abandoned house on Sunday night.
According to police reports, Nath crushed the beggar with a stone while teaching his child, and then slit the beggar’s throat.
Upon receiving the information, Jajpur Road police and a scientific team reached the spot, recovered the blood-soaked body, and initiated an investigation. Sanjay Nath has been detained in connection with the murder case.
Local residents are in shock over the gruesome act, and authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the deadly confrontation.
