Marking her first visit to the state after assuming her new role, newly appointed BJP Odisha In-Charge and National Vice-President D. Purandeswari, alongside Co-In-Charge and National Secretary Dr. Swadesh Singh, received a grand welcome at the Bhubaneswar airport today.
Setting a clear agenda for the party, Purandeswari emphasized that bridging the gap between the government and the party apparatus will be a top priority. “I have been given the responsibility of Odisha for the second time. Our primary focus will be ensuring seamless coordination between the government and the organization, and we will work to strengthen the party’s grassroots base even further,” she stated.
Community Outreach Through ‘Angan Ki Utsav’ Following the reception, the leaders actively participated in the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Smt. Purandeswari visited the Anganwadi center in Ward 35 of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation to attend the ‘Angan Ki Utsav’ program. She praised the Anganwadi workers for their vital contributions to child health, nutrition, and early development. During the visit, she also highlighted the central government’s initiatives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed at improving maternal and child healthcare.
Simultaneously, Co-In-Charge Dr. Swadesh Singh engaged with the community at a similar ‘Angan Ki Utsav’ event held at the Anganwadi center in Ward 40.
Strategic Blueprint for Upcoming Elections
Later in the day, the state BJP headquarters hosted a felicitation ceremony and a high-level organizational meeting. Chaired by State BJP President Manmohan Samal and attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the session brought together state office bearers, district presidents, and key party functionaries to welcome the new leadership.
State General Secretary Biranchi Narayan Tripathy detailed the core discussions of the meeting, which saw the presence of State General Secretary (Organization) Manas Kumar Mohanty and other senior leaders. The agenda focused heavily on evaluating current organizational activities, drafting future action plans, and strategizing for the upcoming Panchayat and Municipal elections in the state.
Honoring PM Modi’s 25 Years of Leadership
The leadership also reviewed the ongoing month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, launched on September 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, and discussed the roadmap for events continuing until October 17.
A major focal point of the meeting was the upcoming “Seva Jyoti” program on October 7. The nationwide event will celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 consecutive years serving in public office as both Chief Minister of Gujarat and Prime Minister of India. Shri Tripathy noted that a comprehensive blueprint was prepared to ensure massive public participation across all 30 districts of Odisha, allowing citizens to tune into the Prime Minister’s virtual address.
During their two-day tour of Odisha, Purandeswari and Dr. Singh are scheduled to attend various community service programs under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and hold further organizational meetings to energize the party’s state unit.
