Nayagarh: Three bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted cash, jewellery, and a mobile phone from a couple near Kotagarh Ghat under Ranpur Police limits in Nayagarh district today.
The victim has been identified as Suresh Kumar Jena and his wife Mamina Jena, of Sanabad village under Bolgarh police limits of Khurda district.
As per reports, the incident took place while the couple was heading towards Ranpur from Rajsunakhala on a motorcycle when some miscreants intercepted them at a deserted road near Kotagarh Ghat and snatched a gold chain, mobile phone, and a vanity bag containing the cash before fleeing from the spot.
The couple sustained injures in the attack and was admitted to Rajsunakhala Hospital for treatment.
