Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has awarded ₹10 lakh to 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi after his record-breaking century in IPL 2025.

Playing for the Rajasthan Royals, Vaibhav stunned the cricketing world with his fearless batting, scoring 101 runs off just 38 balls—the fastest century by an Indian in IPL history.

Vaibhav’s extraordinary achievement has earned him not only admiration from cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar but also the pride of his home state, Bihar. Nitish Kumar expressed his hopes for Vaibhav’s bright future, calling him a “new hope for Indian cricket.” The Chief Minister personally congratulated Vaibhav and emphasised that this recognition is a testament to the immense talent emerging from Bihar.

A native of Samastipur, Bihar, Vaibhav started his cricket journey at an early age and made his first-class debut at just 12 years. His rise to stardom serves as an inspiration to aspiring cricketers across the country. With his fearless approach and undeniable skill, Vaibhav is poised to make significant contributions to Indian cricket.
