Bhubaneswar: As Covid cases continue to rise in State Capital Bhubaneswar, the civic bodies are relocating several major haats/markets to open places. The move comes in as Bhubaneswar entered the “High-risk” category with surging coronavirus cases.
Dumduma Haat has been shifted to Phase-2, Ruchika Haat was transferred to Nayapalli Durgamandap, west zone deputy commissioner, Ravi Narayan Sethi informed. Similarly, Haats under north zone limits like VSS Nagar, Palasuni, and Tarini Haat will be shifted to Chandrashekharpur.
Likewise, the Unit 1 Haat will be shifted to Unit 1 High School ground and Unit 4 Vegetable Haat to the Left Hand Side Road connecting Red Cross Bhawan to Shastri Nagar via AG Colony while the Unit 4 Fish Market will be relocated to Right Hand Side of the stretch.
Today the relocation work of the Haats including, Unit-1, Unit-4, Indradhanu Nagar Haat, Damana Haat, Ruchika, etc have already been initiated.
