In a chilling mass homicide, Bengaluru Police on Friday arrested a 45-year-old cab driver for allegedly murdering his wife and six in-laws over a domestic dispute in the city’s Rajajinagar area.
The suspect, identified as Indushekhar, reportedly dumped the victims’ bodies across multiple locations, including near Nandi Hills in Chikkaballapur district.
According to police officers, the suspected killings took place in a residential neighbourhood on 59th Cross, near Basroom Circle, within the Rajajinagar police station limits.
Indushekhar allegedly murdered his wife, Sunita, using a grinding stone, wrapped her body in cloth, and disposed of it near Nandi Hills. To avoid suspicion, he switched off her mobile phone and falsely informed neighbours that she had left for a trip.
He then allegedly proceeded to kill his mother-in-law, two brothers-in-law, their wives, and his seven-year-old nephew. The horrific crime surfaced after the mother of one of his sisters-in-law filed a missing-person complaint at Srirampura police station on Thursday. Police subsequently uncovered the mass murder, recovered the child’s body, and arrested the suspect.
“Two ACPs, four inspectors, and around 50 personnel are involved in searching for the remaining bodies,” said North Division DCP B S Nema Gowda. Investigators revealed Indushekhar used chemicals to scrub bloodstains from the house. Police have seized the grinding stone and the car used to transport the bodies.
