Balangir police arrested a 19-year-old youth in connection with a POCSO case registered at Turekela police station.
The accused, Rinku Parabhu of Larki village, allegedly abducted a minor girl from Ramuda village on June 16 and subjected her to sexual assault. Following the incident, police registered Case No. 118/2026 under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act.
After investigation, police arrested the accused on July 19 and produced him before the Balangir ADJ-cum-Special POCSO Court. Police confirmed that further investigation is underway, according to Turekela IIC Rakesh Behera.
