Indian players delivered standout performances at the US Open Pickleball Championships in Florida on April 15.
Atharva Sheth and Panth Thakkar won silver in the Men’s Doubles 4.5 category, while Arjun Singh and Aditya Singh captured gold in the Men’s Doubles 5.0 division.
Atharva and Panth reached the final after a strong campaign marked by resilience and sharp coordination. They lost to Caian Appel and Michael Van Dusen in the championship match but showcased consistency and competitive spirit throughout the tournament. Logan Fanning and Marco Shulman secured bronze in the same category.
Arjun and Aditya Singh added to India’s medal tally with a thrilling three-set victory over Joe Moede and Wen Lin. After dropping the opening game 9-11, the brothers regrouped and dominated the next two sets 11-2 and 11-7. Their aggressive net play and precise shot placement sealed the title.
The Singh brothers’ triumph marked multiple titles at the event. Arjun Singh had already won the Men’s Singles 5.0 title and paired with Aditya to claim the U18 Boys’ Doubles crown. Their success highlighted tactical awareness and composure under pressure.
