Anugola Soars to 2nd Rank in National Swachh Vayu Survekshan Among 130 Cities

Competing against 130 participating cities from across the nation, Anugola stood out for its robust, multi-faceted interventions designed to curb air pollution and elevate local environmental standards. The award was formally presented by national dignitaries and received jointly by the Collector and District Magistrate of Anugola alongside the Executive Officer of Anugola Municipality.

A Hat-Trick of National Excellence

This prestigious accolade marks the municipality’s third national-level recognition, following two earlier third-place finishes in national cleanliness and air quality rankings. Moving up the podium to secure the second position highlights a sustained trajectory of improvement driven by systemic planning rather than short-term fixes.

• Greenery Expansion: Aggressive urban forestry drives to increase local green cover.

• Waste Management: Strict enforcement against open waste burning alongside modernised solid waste treatment.

Beyond administrative policy, local authorities emphasised that the true cornerstone of this milestone is community participation. The active cooperation of residents, local businesses, and dedicated frontline sanitation workers (Swachhata Sathis) played a pivotal role in maintaining high sanitation standards and fostering public health across all municipal wards.
