Subhrajyoti Sahoo, a former Amin attached to the NTPC Land Acquisition Section under the Office of the Tahasildar in Dhenkanal, has been dismissed from government service following his conviction in a bribery case.

Sri Sahoo was charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018, for allegedly demanding and accepting bribes to submit a demarcation report for a complainant’s plots. The Vigilance Directorate of Odisha had registered the case under Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No.1 on January 3, 2019.

On December 17, 2024, Sri Sahoo was convicted by the Honorable Special Judge of Vigilance, Dhenkanal, and was sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of ₹50,000. Following his conviction, the Vigilance Directorate communicated with the competent authority, which ultimately dismissed Sri Sahoo from his position effective March 18, 2025, as per the OCS (CCA) Rules of 1962.

This dismissal underscores the government’s commitment to curbing corruption within its ranks and ensuring accountability in public service.
