Actor-turned-politician Vijay, founder of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has declared assets exceeding ₹620 crore in his election affidavit ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
According to the filing, Vijay reported movable assets worth ₹404.58 crore and immovable assets valued at ₹220.15 crore. He also disclosed assets held in the name of his spouse, Sangeetha Vijay, amounting to ₹15.51 crore in movable assets and ₹2.5 crore in immovable holdings.
Asset Breakdown and Financial Details
The affidavit reveals that Vijay owns 883 grams of gold, multiple vehicles including five cars and a two-wheeler, and maintains ₹2 lakh in cash. His spouse holds 3,132 grams of gold and 134.91 carats of diamonds, along with ₹1 lakh in cash.
Additionally, Vijay has extended loans to family members and associates, including:
- ₹3.02 crore to his father S. A. Chandrasekhar
- ₹87.12 lakh to his mother Shobha Chandrasekhar
- ₹12.6 crore to his spouse
- Smaller amounts to his children, including Jason Sanjay and Divya Sasha
He has listed his occupation as self-employed and cited income sources such as business activities, interest earnings, and rental income.
Nomination and Political Push
Vijay filed his nomination from the Perambur constituency and has begun campaigning. He has also announced candidates for all 234 constituencies in Tamil Nadu, positioning TVK as a significant contender in the elections scheduled for April 23.

The disclosure comes amid reports of a marital dispute, with Sangeetha Vijay reportedly filing for divorce. The petition, submitted in a district court, cites personal differences and allegations that led to the breakdown of their marriage.

Since announcing his political entry in 2024, Vijay has been actively building his party and outreach. He has emphasized selecting candidates who are closely connected to the public, aiming to strengthen grassroots support.
