Aadhaar authentication has recorded an unprecedented milestone with over 2,707 crore transactions in the financial year 2024-25.
Notably, March 2025 alone saw 247 crore transactions, underscoring the growing reliance on Aadhaar across banking, telecom, and various government welfare schemes.
A major highlight of the year was the adoption of Aadhaar’s AI/ML-based face authentication technology. With over 15 crore transactions in March 2025 and more than 100 entities embracing this innovation, the service has made the delivery of benefits and services more seamless. This cutting-edge modality earned UIDAI the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration under the Innovation category.
Aadhaar’s e-KYC services also demonstrated a 6% growth compared to last year, totalling 44.63 crore transactions in March 2025 alone. Cumulatively, e-KYC transactions have now surpassed 2,356 crore, facilitating smoother business processes across sectors such as banking and finance. Additionally, 20 lakh new Aadhaar numbers were generated, and over 1.91 crore updates were successfully processed in March 2025, further reinforcing Aadhaar’s integral role in service efficiency.
With these strides, Aadhaar continues to play a pivotal role in India’s journey toward digital transformation, enabling both economic and social inclusion.
