Keonjhar Miners produced a dominant all-round performance to clinch the Odisha T20 League – CM Trophy, defeating Sambalpur Warriors by nine wickets in the final at Barabati Stadium.
After making a difficult start to the tournament with two consecutive defeats, Keonjhar staged a remarkable turnaround and carried their winning momentum into the title clash.
Sambalpur Warriors struggled to build a substantial total after being put under pressure by Keonjhar’s bowling attack. They slipped to 55/8 before being bowled out for just 102 in 18.3 overs.
Jamala Mohapatra led the bowling effort with an impressive spell of 2/13 in four overs, while the rest of the attack maintained consistent pressure to restrict the Warriors.
Chasing 103 for the title, Keonjhar lost Rajesh Dhupar early for one. However, the setback proved insignificant as Mayank Pattanayak and captain Subhranshu Senapati took complete control of the chase.
Pattanayak unleashed an attacking stroke-filled innings, smashing an unbeaten 72 off just 34 balls. Senapati provided steady support with 32 not out off 26 deliveries as the pair stitched together an unbeaten 89-run partnership.
Keonjhar reached the target comfortably without losing another wicket, sealing a nine-wicket victory and the championship trophy.
Senapati credited the team’s collective effort and the backing of the support staff and team management for the turnaround after their early defeats.
Team owner Pratyush Manish Khemka also praised the squad’s resilience, highlighting the team’s three-match winning streak and dominant performance in the final.

Keonjhar Miners’ Vageesh Sharma was among the standout performers of the tournament, taking home both the Player of the Season and Purple Cap awards.
