The Bhadrak district administration has stepped up emergency measures in response to a worsening flood-like situation, ordering the immediate closure of all schools across affected blocks.
According to an official order issued by the Collector and District Magistrate of Bhadrak (Order No. 12167, dated 29.09.2026), the decision was made strictly to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff. The shutdown applies to all academic and non-academic activities within the designated flood-hit zones and has come into force with immediate effect.
With rising water levels threatening normal daily life, district authorities are prioritising precautionary measures. Beyond suspending classes, the Collector has issued explicit directives to school management and headmasters. Once the flood situation normalises, school authorities must thoroughly sanitise all internal water sources before allowing students and staff to resume use, ensuring health and hygiene standards are met.
Copies of the urgent order have been successfully dispatched to Block Education Officers (BEOs), District Education Officers (DEOs), and local Headmasters to guarantee swift compliance across the district.
