India added another shooting medal to its Asian Games 2026 tally on Saturday as Tilottama Sen, Vidarsa Vinod, and Ashi Chouksey claimed silver in the women’s 50 m rifle 3 positions team event, scoring a combined 1763 points.
China dominated with a Games record 1773 to take gold, while Kazakhstan earned bronze (1754). The Indian trio displayed remarkable consistency across the kneeling, prone, and standing stages, keeping India in contention throughout qualification.
In the individual competition, Tilottama Sen finished third in qualification with 590 points, earning a place in the eight‑shooter final. Vidarsa Vinod, ranked 15th globally, recovered strongly to finish sixth (588) and join Tilottama in the final.
Ashi Chouksey narrowly missed out, scoring 585 points after matching Tilottama’s early 395 in the kneeling and prone rounds. Her 25 inner 10s reflected precision, though she fell short in the standing series.
With two Indians in the final, the nation’s hopes for another podium finish remain high as the shooters continue their impressive run in Nagoya.
