A heartbreaking road accident took the lives of a married couple on the outskirts of Kendujhar town near Dhurupada under Kendujhar Town police limits.
The deceased have been identified as Kanhu Charan Mohanta and his wife Janaki Mohanta, residents of the Jagamohan area under Telkoi block in Kendujhar district.
According to reports, the couple was travelling on their motorcycle (Registration No. OR 09P 4473) when an unidentified speeding truck struck them near Dhurupada. The impact of the collision was severe enough to cause both of them to die on the spot before medical aid could reach them.
Upon receiving the information, officials from the Kendujhar Town Police Station rushed to the scene to secure the area, recover the bodies, and send them for post-mortem analysis.
The truck involved in the collision fled the spot immediately after the accident. Police have registered a case and initiated a search operation to track down the fleeing vehicle and driver.
