A devastating fire broke out at the Dolamundai VIP showroom on Tuesday morning, resulting in the destruction of goods worth approximately Rs 80 lakh.
The incident occurred around 10 AM when the air conditioning system was turned on, reportedly leading to a short circuit that ignited the blaze. The fire quickly engulfed the two-storey building, sending thick smoke across the local area and prompting nearby shops to shut down as a precaution.
The showroom owner confirmed that no employees were present at the time of the fire. Six teams of fire brigade personnel worked tirelessly to contain the flames, successfully extinguishing the fire within an hour. Assistant Fire Officer Pratap Kumar Singh stated that the cause of the fire, along with relevant documents, would be thoroughly verified.
