Panic gripped the Bali Sahi area under the Puri Sea Beach police station limits after two youths allegedly attacked an autorickshaw driver and a shopkeeper near the Solakhia Banyan Tree.
According to reports, the attackers threatened the victims with a gun and sword before beating them up.
Shopkeeper Gurucharan Das sustained severe injuries during the assault and was rushed to Puri hospital for medical treatment.
