The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is likely to appoint a deputy chief executive officer soon, days after naming Air Marshal (Retd) Jeetendra Mishra as its first full-time chief executive officer.
Trust secretary Govind Dev Giri said the search committee has already prepared panels of candidates in three categories through a transparent process. No fresh search will be required for the deputy CEO.
“No fresh search needed, deputy CEO will be picked from existing panels based on the trust’s requirement and qualifications,” Giri said in Ayodhya.
Three-member panel prepared
The search panel includes Justice (Retd) Pramod Kohli, Lt Gen (Retd) Vishnu Kant Chaturvedi and scientist-industrialist Suresh Haware.
The trust is expected to select the deputy CEO from the existing panels based on the organisation’s requirements and the qualifications of the candidates.
The appointment will create a two-tier administrative structure for the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
What will the deputy CEO do?
While CEO Jeetendra Mishra is expected to oversee broader areas such as security, coordination with government agencies and implementation of major decisions, the deputy CEO is likely to focus on day-to-day operational coordination.
The expanded administrative structure is expected to bring areas such as finance and accounts, internal audit, IT and digital monitoring, human resources, project management and pilgrim facilities under a more unified chain of command.
This could reduce the need for trust office-bearers to intervene in routine administrative matters.
Trust shifts towards professional administration
The appointment of a full-time CEO and a deputy CEO marks a move towards a more structured administrative system for the Ram Mandir trust.
The trust office-bearers are expected to focus increasingly on policy, supervision and strategic decisions, while the professional administrative team handles everyday execution.
Such a division could also reduce dependence on senior trust functionaries for smaller decisions and streamline coordination between different departments.
Ayodhya as a global cultural capital
Giri said the trust had been handed a completed temple for service and that its broader objective was to establish Ayodhya as a global cultural capital.
The trust is expected to focus on improving the environment around the Ram temple as part of this wider vision.
With the CEO’s office emerging as a central coordinating authority, responsibilities ranging from finance and security to technology, infrastructure, projects and pilgrim management could increasingly come under the professional administrative structure.
The proposed deputy CEO would serve as an operational link between these departments, helping ensure that decisions are implemented efficiently on the ground.
