A violent clash erupted late Thursday night at the Garjanbahal coal mine under Hemgir police limits, leaving more than four drivers seriously injured.
The confrontation reportedly broke out between employees of two transport companies over priority in coal truck queues. Witnesses said the dispute escalated into a deadly assault, with several drivers of the SUPL company sustaining grave injuries.
In protest, drivers gathered at the mine gate Friday morning, blocking vehicle movement and bringing coal transport to a complete standstill. The agitation has disrupted operations and raised concerns about security at the site.
Hemgir police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident. However, officials confirmed that no formal written complaint has yet been filed regarding the attack.
