Odisha Chief Secretary directives

At a high‑level secretaries’ meeting, Chief Secretary of Odisha, Anu Garg, issued clear directives to departmental secretaries to intensify field inspections and ensure timely monitoring of projects.

The meeting placed strong emphasis on departmental expenditure claims up to August, with instructions to speed up budget utilisation now that the monsoon season has ended.

The Chief Secretary stressed that secretaries must not confine themselves to reviews in offices but also visit the ground to assess progress and implementation.

Key discussions included:

  • Accelerating budget spending across departments to meet annual targets.
  • Nasha‑mukt Bharat (Drug‑Free India) campaign, with focus on awareness and enforcement.
  • Tourism sector development, alongside other priority issues.

The directives underline the government’s push for accountability, faster execution, and visible results in the post‑monsoon period.
